Cassina
Founded in 1927 by the brothers Cesare and Umberto in the heart of Brianza furniture, Cassina is one of the long-lived Made in Italy industrial design companies. From the early ‘30s, Cassina brothers identified the strong demand for home furnishings and interpreted in a far-sighted way the renewed taste of the new emerging classes. From this intuition, Cassina started a real revolution in the indoor furnishings design. Since then, the company has been pursuing a path of research and innovation, involving prestigious designers and architects in the study of new furnishings models. In the last few years the collaboration with Gio Ponti has begun. Thanks to this partnership were born the 646 chair, known as Leggera, and the subsequent model 699 or Superleggera.Read more

Theodore Waddell
Theodore Waddell (1930-) is an American designer. After studying chemistry and Business Administration at the prestigious Cornell University, he later became passionate about architecture and obtained a master's degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1964. He then moved to Italy, in 1968 he obtained a summa cum laude degree from the Faculty of Architecture in Florence and remained there for 15 years working as an architect and designer. He therefore has the opportunity to work with prestigious brands such as Cassina and Zanotta, achieving success in particular for his experimental lamps, still part of the collections of museums such as the Musée des Arts Decoratifs in Paris and the MoMA in New York. On his return to the USA, he settled in Santa Fe (New Mexico) and continued his flourishing activity as an architect there.Read more
