Javier Mar\u00edn was born in Uruapan, Mexico, in 1962<\/strong>. For over thirty years he has been actively involved in the world of art where he distinguished himself for his creative genius in more than ninety individual exhibitions and two hundred collective exhibitions in Mexico, the United States and Canada as well as several countries of Central America, South America, Asia and Europe. Javier Mar\u00edn’s work focuses mainly on the human being<\/strong>, developing a motion of construction and de-construction of three-dimensional shapes within the creative process. Javier Mar\u00edn has always preferred sculpture<\/strong> as his main means of expression, but lately he has also experienced\u00a0drawing and photography<\/strong>. The Salvioni Milano Durini showroom has exhibited numerous works of\u00a0the artist in\u00a0its exhibition spaces, where the creative direction Salvioni and the Architect Riccardo Rocchi\u00a0pursued to combine art and design in a supportive and interdependent union. The collaboration with the Barba Paci Art Gallery allowed to renew over time the artist’s works now visitable in the CORPUS exhibition.<\/p>\n Corpus<\/strong> is the project of an individual exhibition of the artist that includes a selection of sculptures, paintings and graphic works<\/strong> made during his last twenty-five years of activity, including some more recent projects, some made specifically for this exhibition. The exhibition aims to present to the public an anthology of the aesthetic work of Javier Mar\u00edn around the human figure<\/strong>, accentuating its condition of reflection of man<\/strong>, who through his visual duplicity of reality can multiply the world and represent his transit through it.<\/p>\n For the writer Jorge Luis Borges,<\/strong> the mirror is at the same time an opportunity to contemplate the infinite and an\u00a0occasion to understand others, which are nothing but the reflection of ourselves; for him, the other is “a face that looks and is looked at<\/strong>“. Undoubtedly the mirror, which in turn becomes the figures that reflect, is one of the classic models of the history of art and is one of the images that best describe human events.<\/p>\n In the specific case of painting and sculpture, the work of art is more than a simple witness to the creative process;it condenses the transmutation of the author into the other, in his double, a double through which his desires and his sadness, his doubts and his certainties are manifested.
