Big-Game
BIG-GAME is a Swiss design studio founded in Lausanne in 2004 by Grégoire Jeanmonod (1978–, Swiss), Augustin Scott de Martinville (1980–, French), and Elric Petit (1978–, Belgian). Their creations are characterized by a simple, playful style, often seeming as if they were taken from a child’s drawings. Bold, rounded silhouettes are a recurring feature of the furniture they design, as clearly shown by the product that made them famous—and remains their best-known work to this day—the iconic Bold Chair, produced from 2009 onward by the French brand Moustache. They have worked with numerous brands around the world: from Danish companies such as HAY and Muuto, leading figures of the “New Nordic” style, to Italian brands like Magis and Alessi, as well as the Czech company Bomma, Japan’s Karimoku, India’s Phantom Hands, and many others. The three designers are also engaged in significant teaching activity at ECAL (École cantonale d’art de Lausanne).
