India Mahdavi
India Mahdavi (1962-) is one of the best known and most respected interior designers in the world. Of Iranian origins but based in Paris for several years, India Mahdavi is the author of very personal and highly recognizable spaces in which bright colors are the masters, with intense shades ranging from pinks to oranges and greens capable of merging in a fascinating way and never noisy, giving life to environments that turn out to be magical and affected but without excesses. Perfect to photograph and always exciting, India Mahdavi's projects find inspiration in her childhood memories of colorful Disney cartoon films and have achieved enormous popularity, so much so that she won the title of Designer for Year 2023 awarded by the prestigious Wallpaper magazine. India Mahdavi takes her first steps in the sector at the studio of Christian Liagre, one of the most popular Parisian interior designers, where she will hold the role of Artistic Direction for seven years. She set up on her own in 1997, she achieved great international fame in 2014 thanks to the project of the remaining Sketch in London, entirely made in a very lively candy pink that soon made it the most photographed restaurant on all of Instagram. Most of her designs are made with unique and exclusive furnishings, marketed through the India Mahdavi Editions line. Her rare collaborations with external brands are always a great event: those of her with Pierre Frey for fabrics, with Gebrüder Thonet Vienna and Petite Friture for furnishings and with De Gournay for wallpapers are remembered.
