Jader Almeida

Jader Almeida (1981–) is a Brazilian designer and entrepreneur. Born in the state of Santa Catarina, he has been active in the furniture sector since the age of sixteen. One of his first jobs was with the brand LinBrasil, an experience that brought him into contact with one of the great “founding fathers” of Brazilian design, Sergio Rodrigues—of whom Almeida can, in a way, be considered a spiritual heir. His creations, marketed in Brazil through a network of Jaderalmeida-branded stores, likewise place wood at center stage and manage to be at once modern and welcoming, as well as authentically rooted in tradition, much like Rodrigues’s work. Almeida also founded the brand Sollos in 2004, serving as its art director; its collection includes numerous pieces of fine cabinetry. His most important collaboration outside Brazil began in 2013, with the German brand ClassiCon.
