Philippe Nigro

Philippe Nigro (1975–) is a French designer who is highly active both in France and in Italy. Born in Nice and based in Milan since 1999, he worked for twelve years at the studio of Michele De Lucchi. Versatile and prolific, he has created furniture pieces with very different aesthetic expressions, all united by a constant pursuit of a certain grace even in the most strictly functional designs. Avoiding excessive stylistic flourishes and maintaining a strong focus on usability, Philippe Nigro was named “Designer of the Year” in 2014 by Maison & Objet. Among his most enduring partnerships is his collaboration with the French brand Ligne Roset, one of the first to believe in his work as early as 2009. Having definitively left De Lucchi’s studio in 2012, Nigro has since collaborated with a wide range of companies, including De Padova, Driade, Barovier & Toso, DCWéditions, Gebrüder Thonet Vienna, Novamobili, Serralunga, Wittmann, and many others.
