Sebastian Bergne (1966-) is an English designer. Born in Tehran, he had a wandering youth that led him to move between Cairo, Athens, Beirut, Abu Dhabi and Hong Kong before settling permanently in London where he graduated from the Royal College of Art in 1990 and then opened his own design studio. His creations, strongly influenced by the style in vogue in the 90s and early 2000s made of gentle curves and extensive use of plastic materials, cover various product areas: from furniture to lamps through to everyday objects. Among his most fruitful collaborations are those with Luceplan and Driade, but he has also worked with Tolix, Serralunga, Slide and, more recently, Pierre Frey. Some of his creations have been selected to become part of the permanent collection of the MoMA in New York and the Design Museum in London.
