Sebastian Herkner
Sebastian Herkner (1981-) is one of the most relevant figures of young contemporary German design. His fresh and innovative approach, deep knowledge of materials and skilful use of bright colours have led him to develop a style of great international appeal. Some of his most famous products leverage on the evocative nuances of coloured glass, such as the Bell coffee table made for ClassiCon and the Oda lamp designed for Pulpo, which have already risen to the status of true icons. Others, such as the chairs designed for Moroso and the outdoor furniture by Dedon, leverage the harmonious play of proportions and delicate curves. All these qualities make Herkner a designer in great demand by the biggest brands around the world: he has also worked for brands such as Wittmann, Emu, Pedrali, Rosenthal, Fritz Hansen, Ligne Roset, Ames, Sancal and many others.
