Soo K. Chan (1962-) was born in Malaysia in the famous village of Khoo Kongsi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and studied architecture in the United States at Washington University and Yale. Settled in Singapore, he founded SCDA Architects Pte Ltd there and he has established himself as one of the most prominent architects in the wealthy city-state. The "Singapore Designer of the Year" won in 2016, during the first edition of the "President’s Design Awards" in Singapore, stands out among the numerous international awards that can be boasted. The SCDA studio has over 150 designers and three different offices, including Singapore, Shanghai and New York, and specializes in high-end projects in both the residential and hospitality sectors, such as the Soori Bali Hotel or the Soori High Line residence in New York. He also designed his own line of furniture for Poliform.
