Interview | Carola Bestetti, Ceo of Living Divani
Living Divani is a well-established company that has been operating in the world of luxury interior design since 1969. Internationally renowned, it spans a wide range of interior furnishing sectors, offering solutions for living areas, dining spaces, bedrooms, and much more. A strong artisanal heritage combined with an ongoing pursuit of formal research makes Living Divani a company in tune with the times, capable of anticipating trends and evolving with them, while always remaining an ideal choice for those who love to surround themselves with excellence.
Carola Bestetti, the company’s CEO, carries forward Living Divani’s legacy while at the same time guiding it toward the perspectives of tomorrow. Her passion and determination are essential in preserving the spirit that drives this company forward. We asked her a few questions to better understand it together.
1. Since 2020, you have taken over the leadership of the company. What is it like to be at the helm of a business with such a rich historical heritage? What is it like to collaborate with a key figure in Italian design such as Piero Lissoni?
Living Divani was founded in 1969 and carries with it an entrepreneurial and design history that has been built over time with great consistency. Even today, my parents, Renata and Luigi Bestetti, are actively involved in the company, representing an important point of reference and a continuity of values that remains central to our way of working. Taking the lead of a company with such a strong heritage means safeguarding its identity, respecting its journey, and at the same time guiding its evolution with responsibility and vision.
The collaboration with Piero Lissoni is a key element of this journey. Our dialogue is ongoing and grounded in a deep sharing of vision: Piero has played a decisive role in defining the Living Divani language and continues to be a fundamental presence in ensuring coherence, balance, and quality in our projects. It is an exchange that brings together experience, sensitivity, and a shared attention to design culture, allowing us to look to the future with strength and awareness.
2. The company was founded in the 1970s. In your opinion, how has the landscape of the interior design world changed in recent years? What do you believe is the winning formula that has allowed Living Divani to stand out among many other companies in the sector?
From the 1970s to today, the design landscape in the furniture sector has changed profoundly, becoming increasingly global. Design now engages with new cultural sensibilities and themes such as sustainability, spatial flexibility, and a different concept of comfort—one more closely linked to the quality of experience than to function alone.
In this process, I believe Living Divani has been able to maintain coherence and consistency, remaining faithful to a clear and precise vision without necessarily chasing passing trends. Living Divani believes in a constant balance between design rigor, research, and restraint, combined with a solid approach and great attention to the quality of materials and processes. This consistency over time has allowed us to build a recognizable and lasting identity, capable of evolving without losing authenticity.
3. Recently, your Extra Soft sofa was selected by Pharrell Williams as the central scenic element for the runway show of the new Louis Vuitton menswear collection. How did this collaboration come about?
Extrasoft and Chemise Bed were selected for the set design of the Louis Vuitton Men’s Fall–Winter 2026 show, presented on January 20, 2026 in Paris under the creative direction of Pharrell Williams.
For the occasion, the maison unveiled DROPHAUS, an innovative future living concept staged inside the Fondation Louis Vuitton, spontaneously choosing to feature Living Divani products. This decision confirms the brand’s ability to embrace diverse contemporary cultural languages and to contribute to new interpretations of modern living.
4. The Salone del Mobile is just around the corner. Can you give us a preview of what to expect?
On the occasion of the upcoming Salone del Mobile, we will present several new pieces that will be added to the Living Divani collection. At Salvioni, as a preview, the night area will showcase a glimpse of the new 2026 collection: the highlight is the Greene bed, designed by David Lopez Quincoces.
An extension of the collection, this project features delicate curves and balanced proportions, conceived to convey a relaxed and effortless mood, where comfort and refinement engage in a natural dialogue. It offers a first look at an increasingly intimate, welcoming, and measured vision of living, which will be further developed through different design languages and new products.
