Glass Newson Vase is a vase produced by Cappellini and designed by Marc Newson who gave his name to the work. It is a classic and timeless object designed in ceramic in the Nineties to recall the sinuous volumes of the Orgone chaise longue by the same author. This time Newson Vase is made of transparent Murano glass and proposed in different colors that accentuate its elegance. In addition to the modeled structure, Glass Newson Vase is completed with a three-hole lid that strongly recalls the appearance of the original ceramic project and transforms this object into a practical flower holder both open and closed. The beauty of this work by Cappellini adapts to indoor and outdoor contexts.

His flair has brought to Italy a large number of young designers from all over the world, who have found in Cappellini the ideal environment to create bold and avant-garde projects, thus often starting careers from real design-star. The Cappellini philosophy of supporting the creativity of their designers, has given life to a rich and heterogeneous catalog, in which a multi-faceted “author” styls coexists. Marc Newson
Marc Newson (1963-) is one of the most prominent figures on the contemporary international design scene. Born in Australia, he studied sculpture and jewelry design in Sydney and then became interested in furniture design, proposing individual exhibitions for his self-produced creations such as the famous Lockheed Lounge chaise longue (1986). His works of this early period already contain a sum of what will be his peculiar stylistic code, based on fluid forms imbued with biomorphism and enriched with futuristic accents. Cosmopolitan designer, he worked for a long time first in Tokyo and then in Paris, before finally settling in London. He achieved great international fame in the early 90s thanks to his creations for important Italian brands such as Flos, Magis, Moroso and, above all, Cappellini, the first Western company to have the courage to bet on him. Over the years he leaves furniture design in the background and focuses on collaborations with major international brands, working on special projects for Louis Vuitton, Ford, Airbus and playing a central role as a design consultant for Apple. In parallel, his work on limited series reaches a real status-cult, with his creations that reach millionaire prices at auctions all over the world, so much so that he becomes the only designer represented by Gagosian, one of the most important galleries in the world contemporary art to the world.Read more
