TL59 Table
Price starting from € 5,130.00*
*Price valid for the version in Ø 120 cm with top in float glass and base in black embossed varnished aluminium (cod. 059 12 FL).
Futuristic and minimalist, the TL59 table by Cassina was born from a functional study conducted by Afra and Tobia Scarpa in 1975. The duo designed this far from predictable object, which plays with different yet harmonious lines, creating a dialogue between the top and the lower supports. The two legs feature a highly distinctive design that lightens the lines while simultaneously improving stability, creating a solid support for the upper table top, available in various finishes. The solid structure makes the TL59 a table with varied uses, suitable for both informal settings and highly formal situations such as offices and meeting rooms where a strong personality is needed.

Founded in 1927 by the brothers Cesare and Umberto in the heart of Brianza furniture, Cassina is one of the long-lived Made in Italy industrial design companies. From the early ‘30s, Cassina brothers identified the strong demand for home furnishings and interpreted in a far-sighted way the renewed taste of the new emerging classes. From this intuition, Cassina started a real revolution in the indoor furnishings design. Since then, the company has been pursuing a path of research and innovation, involving prestigious designers and architects in the study of new furnishings models. In the last few years the collaboration with Gio Ponti has begun. Thanks to this partnership were born the 646 chair, known as Leggera, and the subsequent model 699 or Superleggera.Read more
Designed by
Tobia Scarpa
Tobia Scarpa (1935-), son of the great architect Carlo Scarpa, has managed during his career to be credited with a strong artistic personality and not to remain confined to his father's shadow. He shared his entire sentimental and professional life with his wife Afra Bianchin (1937-2011), whom he met during architecture lessons at the IUAV in Venice, who co-signed with him all of his most important projects. The couple designed their first important projects for the company of Dino Gavina, a great friend of their father, which was later sold to Knoll. At the same time, they were accredited among the very first designers of two young companies born a few years ago and both destined for a great future: B&B Italia and Flos. Over the years other selected collaborations followed with major brands such as Cassina, with which Tobia won the Compasso d'Oro in 1970 for the Soriana sofa, and Molteni & C. Their career as architects was instead strongly linked to the Benetton company, of which they designed the first fabric factory and several shops around the world.Read more
