Landed in the United States at the beginning of the ‘30s, Hans Knoll, a young German-born son of a furniture-maker in Stuttgart, proposed to import into the new continent the modern European design, contemporary heritage of the Bauhaus. Died prematurely, his work was continued by his wife, Florence Knoll, who succeeded in establishing lasting partnerships with some of the greatest exponents of the modernist movement. Few years later the Knoll Associates was founded. Today, Knoll is not only a company of re-selling historic furnishings of great artistic value, but continues to innovate by offering creations of the major international design brands both in the home area and in the office furnitures sector.Read more
Designed by
Willo Perron
Willo Perron (1974–) is a Canadian designer and creative director based in California. His career is closely intertwined with the worlds of music and fashion. A figure with wide-ranging underground interests, he left school to immerse himself in club culture and hip-hop music, a path that over the years led him to run several record labels and collaborate with artists such as Kanye West, Drake, and Rihanna. For them, he designed concerts, world tours, and events, playing a decisive role in redefining the aesthetics of global pop culture over the past two decades. Since 2011, Perron has collaborated with graphic designer Brian Roettinger as co-founder of the studio Perron–Roettinger, benefiting from the growing convergence between rap music and fashion. In this context, he worked on launches and runway shows for Kanye West’s Yeezy brand and Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty. From the interior design of shops and boutiques, the transition to furniture design was a natural one. The first major brand to place its trust in him was the American company Knoll, which in 2024 launched the acclaimed Pillon Perron Sofa. This was followed by collaborations with brands attuned to emerging trends, such as the Swedish company Nordiska Galleriet and the Spanish brand BD Barcelona Design. Highly attuned to contemporary taste and the most refined currents of fashion and culture, Willo Perron is now establishing himself as one of the most compelling figures on the international design scene.Read more
