Oyo Rug
Oyo is a rug where the stylistic sign stands out strongly, capable of creating geometric rigour, but also, at the same time, an authentic example of an environmental pattern, which the eye catches and appreciates. Among the numerous proposals by the Kristiina Lassus brand, Oyo stands out for its apparent simplicity that, nevertheless, conceals a precious aesthetic study, common to many other works by the brands, here highlighted by the repetition of orange and dark grey strokes. In both cases, Oyo fills the room, creating a sort of three-dimensionality wherever one decides to place it, whether in bedrooms, offices, living rooms and more. The production sees natural linen interwowen with wool, made in Nepal.

The refined luxury of Kristiina Lassus carpets is the result of a unique crossroads of cultures and traditions, embodied to perfection by the eponymous Finnish designer and entrepreneur settled in Italy, who brought with her the celebrated Scandinavian attention to natural harmonies, blending it with the chic taste typical of Italian design. The original mix is then completed in faraway Nepal, where all Tibetan wool, bamboo silk, hemp, nettle, linen and silk rugs are woven entirely by hand according to ancient traditional techniques.Read more

Kristiina Lassus (1966-) is a Finnish designer active mainly in the carpet sector through the brand of the same name. After studying in Helsinki and Stockholm she moved to Italy in 1997 and made Milan the base of your activities. Her carpets are the result of a delicate sensitivity capable of blending Nordic minimalism with refined oriental suggestions. Above all, the charm of naturalistic inspirations dominates, inherent in neutral colored textures that communicate a sense of peace and serenity. In addition to her own carpet brands, Kristiina Lassus has also designed products in the past for brands such as Alessi, Zanotta and Poltronova, as well as covering the role of Design Coordinator for the Finnish brand Artek in her youth (from 1994 to 1997). She has been awarded the Red Dot Design Award twice (2008, 2010).
