The collaboration between the company Mingardo and designer Elisa Honkanen led to the creation of the Shirudo side table series. The name “Shirudo” means “shield” in Japanese—an element that seems to have inspired the designer in shaping the tabletop and, above all, the legs, which feature a rounded form reminiscent of the famous “tower shields” commonly used in battle. This series uses metal in different finishes and sizes, giving each piece its own distinct character and making combinations of individual elements particularly pleasing. The finishes—rose gold, matte clouded bronze, matte nickel-plated, and matte burnished iron—pair beautifully with one another, creating well-balanced accents of color that are refined and highly appealing.
