The Coppélia pendant lamp is a light and elegant chandelier that draws its inspiration from the world of ballet. In fact, it takes its name from a famous French choreographic piece of the nineteenth century and tries to recreate in its forms the impression of sinuous intangibility of the movements of a dancer. Dozens of LED lights inserted in small cylindrical diffusers are arranged on three levels and hooked to the ethereal metal sculpture composed of thin rods that also act as current conductors allowing the lighting of the LEDs. The Coppélia lamp, with its magical and impalpable look, is designed by the Japanese designer Arihiro Miyake.

Young and fresh, Moooi is the most sparkling pearl in the dutch design world. The heart of the brand is Marcel Wanders, its founder and artistic director, who has brought together promising talents from all the Netherlands (and others), leaving them free to give full vent to their imagination. Surreal and postmodern, the atmospheres designed by Moooi push themselves towards forms never seen or imagined, or play to recuperate traditional themes and styles, reversing the yield with an ironic touch.Read more
Designed by
Arihiro Miyake
Arihiro Miyake (1975–) is a Japanese designer specializing in lighting and best known for his collaboration with the Italian brand Nemo. His education began in Japan at Kobe Design University and continued in Finland with a master’s degree at Aalto University. Active since 2004 with his own studio based in Helsinki—after working at the office of Finnish designer Ilkka Suppanen—Miyake has also developed notable interior design projects, including the successful Tooth Tooth restaurant in Tokyo and a popular bakery in Osaka. His first major international success in product design came in 2015 with the Coppélia chandelier produced by Moooi, featuring delicate, stripped-back forms that fully exploit the expressive potential of the LED revolution taking hold in those years. The same pared-down yet often dynamic aesthetic is also evident in the many lamps he has designed for Nemo.Read more
