Istos is born from the genius of Francesca Simen, a rug in 100% Botanical Silk available in different versions. Both in its expression and in the round one, Istos retains its precious and refined design, capable of matching tone-on-tone the numerous possibilities of B&B Italia weaves. The dark gray, light gray, green, white and much more weft breaks up in numerous reflections obtained thanks to variations in the yarn. B&B Italia’s fulcrum is the Research and Development Centre (CR&S), a research laboratory dedicated to the study of the most innovative materials and the industrialization of production processes. The purpose of CR&S is to give life to the most groundbreaking projects of some of the major international designers.
Founded in the late 60's by Piero Ambrogio Busnelli and Cesare Cassina with the name of C&B Italia, the company has disrupted the furnishing industry's rules with a revolutionary industry vision. Francesca Simen
Francesca Simen (1963-) graduated in architecture at the Milan Polytechnic in 1989. From 1990 to 2003 she worked in Antonio Citterio's studio following various interior architecture projects, also holding the position of head of the studio's interior design department since 1999. Since 2003, she set up her own business, founding the ANG42 studio with Stefano Gallizioli, primarily dedicated to the private residential sector but also active in the hospitality and office fields. In 2006 the studio began its international expansion by opening a second office in Dublin, the city where she designed the headquarters of an important multinational in the food sector. Other important projects concern the interiors of the exclusive Tatoi Club in Athens and some villas on the Caribbean island of Mustique. Francesca Simen has designed several collections of carpets for B&B Italia.
