Presented for the first time in 1905 by the Scottish architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh, it is characterized by the rectangular solid wood top, an ideal balance of aesthetics. Berlino is an extendable table, made of natural cherry and characterized by a mechanism under the top that allows you to change its length as you wish. When the table top is raised, one or both extensions can be added to the table. Ideal for the dining area or the living room.

Founded in 1927 by the brothers Cesare and Umberto in the heart of Brianza furniture, Cassina is one of the long-lived Made in Italy industrial design companies. From the early ‘30s, Cassina brothers identified the strong demand for home furnishings and interpreted in a far-sighted way the renewed taste of the new emerging classes. From this intuition, Cassina started a real revolution in the indoor furnishings design. Since then, the company has been pursuing a path of research and innovation, involving prestigious designers and architects in the study of new furnishings models. In the last few years the collaboration with Gio Ponti has begun. Thanks to this partnership were born the 646 chair, known as Leggera, and the subsequent model 699 or Superleggera.Read more

Charles Rennie Mackintosh (1868-1928) was a Scottish architect, artist and designer, leading exponent of the Art Nouveau movement in the United Kingdom. He founded the group "The Four" together with Herbert McNair and his sisters Frances and Margarteh Macdonald, all of his fellow students at the Glasgow School of Art, becoming the protagonists of the so-called "Glasgow School" which brought Art Nouveau Eruopea to Great Britain and at the same time he contaminated it with a stylistic heritage strongly influenced by local traditions. Mackitosh's work, in which the new headquarters of the Glasgow School of Art and the famous Hill House stand out, is strongly imbued with Celtic symbolism and neo-Gothic sensibilities. An all-round designer, Mackontosh also loved to design the furnishings of his projects, played on the contrast between long straight lines and gentle curves. These include several seats with bold elongated backrests, still iconic and recognizable today. The furniture designed by Mackintosh came back to life in the 1970s, when the Italian Cassina included them in its famous collection designed by the Masters of contemporary architecture, renowned for its rigorous philological precision. Mackintosh, who at the beginning of the twentieth century also had a decisive influence on the birth of the Viennese Secession style, finally spent the last years of his life in France, devoting himself mainly to painting.Read more
