The CH66 chair by Cassina was originally designed by architect and designer Nicos Zographos in 1966. Today, it returns in a new and fully restored version as part of the Karakter x Cassina collection. This historic piece, deeply rooted in design history and part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, reinterprets the Bauhaus movement through a rigorous and rationalist approach. It features the classic sled base, complemented by a geometric double curve connecting the backrest and seat, eliminating the rear legs and creating a distinctive sense of suspension. The overall concept is highly functional and essential, balancing the geometric coolness of metal with the warm, organic texture of leather.

From the early ‘30s, Cassina brothers identified the strong demand for home furnishings and interpreted in a far-sighted way the renewed taste of the new emerging classes. From this intuition, Cassina started a real revolution in the indoor furnishings design. Since then, the company has been pursuing a path of research and innovation, involving prestigious designers and architects in the study of new furnishings models. In the last few years the collaboration with Gio Ponti has begun. Thanks to this partnership were born the 646 chair, known as Leggera, and the subsequent model 699 or Superleggera.Read more
