Okra is a collection of vases created in recycled plastic material that represents a continuous search for purity and formal elegance, an in-depth study of not only visual but also sensorial stimuli. The peculiarity of the Okra series is inherent in the material form of each of its components, designed by Patricia Urquiola to perfectly match environments with very different tastes and styles. Kartell offers different sizes for this series, one smaller and one larger, and colors that range in different pastel shades. The range of colors is ideal for matching both the sleeping area and the living area, offering a varied point of view.

Color and imagination, but also an excellent technical mastery of the materials: with these weapons, Kartell has managed to make the most of a traditionally economical material such as plastic, creating products with a high design content perfect even for the most luxurious homes. Founded in 1949 by the chemical engineer Giulio Castelli, Kartell started its production with small high-level design objects, developing over time on increasingly consistent sizes and shapes, thus arriving to offer colorful and functional furnishing accessories with affordable prices to everyone.
Recognized the high potential of plastic materials and thanks to the fruitful collaboration with the architect Gino Colombini, in the following years Castelli was able to undertake a long series of experiments that led to the conquest of the first Compasso d'Oro in 1955. In those same years the lighting division was inaugurated with the first collection signed by the Castiglioni brothers.Read more

Patricia Urquiola
Patricia Urquiola (1961-), Spanish by birth but now Milanese by adoption, is one of the most important names in the panorama of contemporary design. She was able to count on an impressive parterre of great masters: graduated from the Milan Polytechnic with Achille Castiglioni as a teacher, she then collaborated for a few years with Vico Magistretti on the set-up of the De Padova showroom, before becoming Head of Design for the studio in 1996. Piero Lissoni. Since the early 2000s she begins to make herself known for her colorful and exuberant style, which will find maximum expression in the collaboration with the Moroso company. Other brands that have strongly focused on her have been B&B Italia, with which she will also shape the aesthetics of her new outdoor collection, B&B Italia Outdoor, and Cassina, for which she is artistic director. Very appreciated and author of highly successful products, she has collaborations with other big brands such as Kettal, Flos, Molteni & C., Kartell, Foscarini, cc-tapis, Paola Lenti, Mutina, Glas Italia and many others.Read more
