Lema
Booken Bookshelf
Price € 649.00
Booken is a bookcase designed by Raw Edges for Lema. It offers a unique interpretation of the bookcase concept, an element that has always been an integral part of Lema’s collections. Here, the book becomes the central feature—held, displayed, and incorporated to the point of becoming essential to the structure itself. This small bookcase can also function as a table, as the very covers of the books turn into a support surface. The supporting elements are simple and well-balanced, designed not to draw attention away but to provide a solid foundation for the whole. Ideal for dining rooms, studies, and living areas, Booken is also perfectly suited to night-time settings, becoming an ideal addition to bedroom interiors.

Lema has marked several key stages in the industrial history of Italian design. Some of the most important inventions of the modern modular furniture are owed to this company, such as the introduction of load-bearing systems or cabinets tailored to the customer's needs through a fully industrialized process. The heart of the company is the large factory designed by Angelo Mangiarotti in the '70s, still at the forefront of the industry, where products such as the famous wardrobe program Armadio al centimetro or the Selecta bookcase system are born.Read more

Raw Edges
Raw-Edges is a London-based design studio founded by Israeli designers Yael Mer (1976–) and Shay Alkalay (1976–). Both originally from Tel Aviv, the two designers met during their studies at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem in 1998. Their careers have since developed in parallel, leading them to move to London in 2004 to study at the Royal College of Art and to establish their studio in 2007. Playful and colorful, their design approach gained critical acclaim from the outset, beginning with their first exhibition of experimental works shortly after graduation. This show introduced what has since become an iconic product, the Stack chest of drawers, later put into production by the brand Established & Sons and awarded an Elle Decoration International Design Award in 2009. Rising stars of the international design scene, Raw-Edges have collaborated with brands such as Vitra, Arco, Lema, Golran, Gan, and previously Moroso and Cappellini. Their work in the field of surface design has also been particularly significant, ranging from the colorful herringbone parquet floors installed in more than forty Stella McCartney boutiques worldwide to several ceramic tile collections designed for the Italian brand Mutina. Named Designers of the Year by the Japanese edition of Elle Decor in 2015, Raw-Edges are also among the leading designers featured in Louis Vuitton’s Objets Nomades collection.Read more
