Ying Door
Richly decorative, the Ying door by Lualdi bears the signature of the famous Chinese designer Steve Leung and is halfway between the ingenious Italian sensibility for design and the precious refinements of a typically oriental taste. Its distinctive element is the peculiar moka oak woodwork in the lower part of the frame, inspired by the traditional Chinese technique of Sǔn Mǎo: a series of vertical geometric carvings crosses the wood. On the other hand, a wide variety of finishes can be selected for the upper part of the door, including a leather upholstery. In Ying, the frame also takes on a strong expressive value: characterized by sweet rounded corners, it takes on a moka oak wood finish in its upper part, recalling that of the door; in its lower part it passes instead to a lighter finish in canaletto walnut, creating a strong contrast effect that emphasizes the beauty of the material.

Steve Leung (1957-) is one of the most important architects in contemporary Hong Kong. His SLD (Steve Leung Design) studio, founded in 1997, also has several offices in mainland China, in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzen, making it one of the largest in all of Asia: its shares are even listed. on the main listing of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. It was positioned for three consecutive years (from 2016 to 2018) in first place in terms of turnover in the field of residential architecture by the renowned US magazine Interior Design Magazine. Despite the titanism of his studio, Steve Leung advocates elegant and sophisticated luxury, far from any brazenness. He has held several important positions at international level, including the presidency of the IFI (Interior Architects / Designers).
