The Chelsea Outdoor armchair by Molteni&C is the result of the design research carried out by Studio Dordoni, which, in collaboration with the company, brings the refinement and comfort of the renowned Chelsea indoor collection to outdoor spaces. Over the years, this iconic collection has successfully brought Molteni&C’s distinctive taste and style to homes around the world. Designed to enhance gardens, terraces, and lounge areas, this armchair combines a technologically advanced structure with a textile elegance traditionally associated with indoor furnishings. The frame is made of powder-coated aluminium, selected to ensure high resistance to prolonged use and exposure to the elements. The backrest and armrests are enriched with a dense weave of polypropylene cord that gently embraces and supports the body.

Collaborations with renowned international designers and technological innovation made Molteni&C. a benchmark for the whole furnishings industry. The history of the company began in 1934 when in Giussano the "Arredamenti Angelo Molteni" was founded, a small artisan workshop specialized in the production of furniture.
In the ‘40s, the company became one of the national furniture production leaders, with an exponential growth that brought the company to hire more than 60 employees, recruited among the best artisan workers.Read more

Rodolfo Dordoni (1954-2023) is one of the leading figures in contemporary Italian design. Refined, measured and elegant, through his creations he proposes a timeless, sober and elegant style, capable of never going out of fashion. Milanese by birth, he has had the opportunity to work with all the major brands of Italian and international design: from Poliform to Molteni & C., from Cassina to Flou, from Flos to Poltrona Frau. He was also the art director of several important brands: Cappellini (from 1979 to 1989), the company that launched him in the firmament of great Italian design, yet another great discovery by the greatest talent scout in the history of design, Giulio Cappellini; Foscarini, which led to it becoming one of the leading Italian lighting brands and Roda (since 2006), with which it was the first to bring high-end luxury design to outdoor spaces. However, his greatest successes remain those obtained with Minotti, a brand that under his artistic direction (since 1998) has grown and developed on all international markets, to become one of the most shining examples of success of Made in Italy in the world.Read more
