The luxurious Double Zero chair by Moroso reveals a clear Art Decò inspiration in its lines and bases its shapes on two padded circular elements that take on the function of seat and backrest. The two circles are connected by thin steel tubes, with an effect that seems to make them float in the air. Double Zero is also embellished with an exceptional signature: it was in fact conceived by the British star architect Sir David Adjaye, the first person born in Africa to be awarded the Royal Gold Medal for architecture. The chair is available both in a comfortable version with armrests and in one that does not have them and which, thanks to the reduction of the lines, maximizes the geometric concept.

Sir David Adjaye (1966-) is an important British architect of Ghanaian origins. The son of a diplomat, he spent his childhood in Tanzania, Egypt, Yemen and Lebanon, before settling permanently in the United Kingdom. Here he has the opportunity to study in the best universities, including the Royal College of Art in London. His architecture, with a strong spectacular impact, is characterized by great attention to materials and the skillful use of light. Examples include award-winning projects such as the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington DC, the SKOLKOVO School of Management in Moscow or the Ruby City in San Antonio. His forays into the world of design are rarer, through appreciated collaborations with brands such as Knoll and Moroso. In 2021 he obtained the Royal Gold Medal, the most important recognition of British architecture, awarded by the Royal Institute of British Architects and approved directly by the Royal House.Read more
