Self Blade Sideboard
Self Blade is a sideboard born from the renowned Self modular system by designer Giuseppe Bavuso. Defined by a strong geometric character, it is structured around vertical lines and a carefully balanced interplay of solids and voids. The distinctive feature of this new element, which can be easily integrated into living rooms, open-plan living areas, and a variety of other settings, lies in its aluminium side panel. This defines the compositions while working in harmony with the system’s modularity, allowing for greater freedom in configuration, combining freestanding elements with floor-standing volumes. Self Blade also incorporates a practical, illuminated open compartment beneath the top, enhancing both functionality and accessibility. The fronts and doors are available in a variety of colours, allowing for greater customization of each piece and making it even more adaptable to different interior settings.

Founded in the heart of Brianza's furnishings district, since the 1956 Rimadesio has created innovative furnishings solutions by handcrafting complex materials. Since the inception, the distinctive elements of the company have been glass, which is still the company’s emblem all over the world 50 years later, followed by aluminum and wood, typical elements of the design sector. Giuseppe Bavuso (1959-) is an appreciated Italian architect and designer. One of his main characteristics is his meticulous technical expertise, combined with a sober aesthetic and a strong focus on the use of materials, which allow him to successfully compete with projects of great complexity. Bavuso's design does not neglect elegance, but he also knows how to highlight the performance and durability of the product. His name is particularly linked to that of the Rimadesio brand, with which he has collaborated since 1986 and for which he is responsible for the design of the entire collection. The Rimadesio-Giuseppe Bavuso combination represents one of the most significant synergies between designer and company in the entire panorama of contemporary design. This has allowed the brand to broaden its horizons, becoming a market leader also in the door sector, as well as starting a path of impetuous international growth that has not yet ended. Among the brands he has worked with are Ernestomeda for the kitchen, Poliform for the wardrobes and Alivar for the upholstered seats.Read more
