A lover of modernism, George Nelson designs this armchair by moving away from the human form, arguing that anything can be transformed into unique design furniture. In the case of this product, it is clearly inspired by the coconut shell cut into eight parts and with inverted colors compared to the tropical fruit, giving shape to a decisive and generously shaped seat. In 1955, the Herman Miller company began production, which continued in 1988 with Vitra making it with a molded plastic shell, chromed steel base and leather interior. Faithful to the original design, it is configured with a single piece of foam, padded cushions and a shell on top of three legs.
