Zanotta
Dealbata Vase
Price € 550.00
Dealbata is a collection of vases by Alessandro Mendini, re-edited by Zanotta and re-presented as a legacy of Italian design. The meticulous work carried out by the brand has made it possible to give light to these objects whose style does not reflect that of a simple vase in which to place objects or flowers, but that of a real piece of furniture to be placed inside domestic spaces or in more contract divisions, as a distinctive element of heterogeneous public spaces. The research carried out by the designer in outlining each piece highlights not only an aesthetic, but also an artistic research, so that in the end, each element created can also be classified as a work of art, a sculpture with limited proportions.

Design and culture: from these two inspirations, Zanotta draws its identity. Browsing the Zanotta catalog is like entering a real design museum full of the key works of some of the biggest protagonists of the furnishings field. Founded in Nova Milanese by Aurelio Zanotta in the ‘50s, the company inextricably links its name to the avant-garde design season, from which innovative furnishings are born, often enriched by an ironic touch. To these timeless masterpieces, Zanotta flanks reissues of classics from the first half of the twentieth century and a contemporary collection inspired by great lightness and quality.Read more
Designed by
Alessandro Mendini
Alessandro Mendini (1931-2019) was one of the leading figures of the movement which, starting from the 1970s, led to a complete renewal of Italian design. Intellectual and refined, he directs the magazines Casabella, Modo and Domus, subjecting the world of Italian design to a severe critical analysis, opposing the dictates of a rigid functionalism and advocating a return to decoration. Noisy and colorful, his often self-produced and limited series works are closer to the world of art and constitute some of the peaks of the Radical Design movement. Guided by concepts such as "re-design", which reinterprets the creations of the past with a postmodern eye, and "banal design", which finds inspiration in everyday objects, he is the master of an entire generation of designers contest season. Since 1976, he is one of the founders of the successful collective of Studio Alchimia, together with Alessandro Guerriero. Until the 1980s, he begins to make series productions, conquered by enlightened entrepreneurs such as Aurelio Zanotta and Alberto Alessi. He also works, among others, with brands such as Cappellini, Venini, Kartell, Artemide, Magis, Swatch and Bisazza. He is an appreciated architect, and an author of unforgettable projects such as the Groninger Museum in Groningen.Read more
