Poltrona Frau meets Ferrari – the new Cockpit armchair

The Cockpit line made by Poltrona Frau and Ferrari has entered the Salvioni Lugano showroom of via Pelli. Nowadays this beautiful seat designed for the office is available in its two versions: President and Executive, ready to amaze the enthusiasts of both the design and the Ferrari brand.

Not an automotive seat or even pure design furniture. Conceived and designed by the design team run by Flavio Manzoni, who recently designed the Ferrari cars (including the Ferrari Aperta, the GTC4 Lusso and the 812 Superfast); the Cockpit office armchair owes its name to the English term that indicates the pilot’s cockpit.

Cockpit is in fact the microcosm where concentration, promptness of reflexes and intuition are combined with the tension of the result. The space where the driver meets his car assuming the correct position of seat and driving the car between the curves. From this concept, Ferrari and Poltrona Frau have started designing this unique piece of furniture, where dynamism and references to the automotive world summarize the link between Pelle Frau® and the absolute prestige of the Ferrari car manufacturer.

Cockpit, conceived as an office chair and now available in the two versions, President and Executive, flaunts a dynamic seat with an architectural and modular structure, with the possibility of expanding into a collection. Poltrona Frau, with its culture in leather processing and creation of iconic pieces of furniture, oversaw the creation of materials, shaping the upholstery and defining the creation of the most sophisticated and performing mechanisms. The central seat band takes up the racing seats. The materials are the same of Ferrari cars.

For the coverings, the Ferrari Design Center team chose shades and finishes inspired by the liveries of the three lines of the Tailor-Made customization service, which allows a tailored car configuration: Scuderia, Classica and Inedita.
