Ferruccio Laviani
Ferruccio Laviani (1960-) is a famous and appreciated contemporary Italian designer. Born in Cremona and graduated from the Milan Polytechnic, he began his career in the field of Radical Design, from which he draws a taste for surprising and expressive forms and a pop taste for experimental provocation. After his studies he was able to work in Michele De Lucchi's studio and set up his first collaborations with the Memphis collective, before setting up his own business in the early 90s. One of the key experiences of his career is that of Kartell's artistic director, a role he has held for over thirty years in which he participated in the great international relaunch of the brand. For Kartell he has designed not only stands and fittings, but also various products, including in particular the collection of lamps and lighting. Other historical partnerships are those with Molteni & C., which gave him the opportunity to approach more precious and alegan projects, and with Emmemobili, which instead favors his experimental streak with visionary creations of high cabinet-making. He can count numerous other collaborations with great Italian design brands, from Foscarini and MisuraEmme, from Flos to De Padova. Also appreciated as an interior, he has also created the interiors of the Dolce & Gabbana headquarters in Milan among many projects.Read more
