Gebruder Thonet Vienna
All design history books begin with the same name: Thonet. In fact, thanks to the research made by the German cabinet maker Michael Thonet on the bending of wood, the industrial production of furniture began. In 1842, Thonet was invited by Chancellor Metternich himself to continue his activity in Vienna, and it was precisely in the capital of the Hapsburg Empire that he founded the Gebrüder Thonet Vienna (GTV) involving his five sons. LucidiPevere
LucidiPevere is a design studio led by Friulian Paolo Lucidi (1974-) and Luca Pevere (1977-), who had already met while studying at the Milan Polytechnic. Appreciated and prolific, they specialize in the design of furniture and lamps with clean lines, with a functional and very contemporary look. The studio has been active since 2003, shortly after the apprenticeships of the two (carried out by Paolo Lucidi with Piero Lissoni and Marc Sadler, while Luca Pevere trained first with Clino Trini Castelli and then with Marco Ferreri), and is based in Palmanova in Friuli Venice Julia. Among their most fruitful collaborations are those with Kristalia and with Emu, but several of their products have been put into production by countless Italian and international brands, including Foscarini, De Padova, Ligne Roset, Roda, Arrmet Gebrüder Thonet Vienna , De Castelli, Horm, Lema , Wittmann and Driade.
