La Permanente Mobili Cantù
NK57 Chair
An iconic piece of modern design from the 1950s, designed by Slovenian designer Niko Kralj in 1957. The NK57 chair was presented as a prototype at the second edition of the Selettiva del Mobile exhibition in Cantù. It became renowned for its elegant tubular metal frame, which combines fluid lines with geometric references. The seat and backrest feature an enveloping, comfortable shape that vaguely recalls a seashell. The use of curved wood softens the overall silhouette, giving the chair a gentle character that allows it to fit seamlessly into a variety of home interiors. Today, the chair has been reintroduced as part of the historic Selettiva for All collection by the La Permanente Mobili Cantù consortium.
