La Permanente Mobili Cantù
PB61 Sideboard
A sideboard whose distinctive features place it within the realm of modern designer furniture. Designed by Pieter De Bruyne in 1961, it was presented at the fourth edition of the Selettiva del Mobile exhibition in Cantù. The PB61 stands out for its seamless fusion of minimalist geometric forms and rigorous functionality, a combination conceived to enhance the refined materials used in its construction. The doors, top and sides are crafted from rosewood, while the supporting frame is made of wenge wood. Numerous technical details enrich this sideboard, including metal finishes that accentuate the joints and the door-opening mechanisms. Today, the piece has been reintroduced as part of the Selettiva for All collection by the La Permanente Mobili Cantù consortium.
