Meritalia
Lierna Chair
The creative vision and expressive research of Achille and Pier Paolo Castiglioni led to the creation of Lierna — a chair with a strong distinctive character and remarkable personality. Lierna is an ideal dining chair, its form evoking conviviality and the pleasure of sharing a meal. The structure, slender yet well defined, maintains both stability and a clear sense of identity, evident in the choice of solid wood and in its proportions that favor a high backrest and refined curves. The seat is padded and upholstered in leather to ensure comfort even during prolonged sitting. Perfect for the dining room, it can also adapt effortlessly to different areas of the home.

Achille Castiglioni
Achille Castiglioni (1918-2002) was one of the most important and famous masters of Italian design of the twentieth century. With a playful and curious temperament, he has also brought these characteristics into his creations, always full of brilliant intuitions resulting from a strong ability to observe the behavior of people and their relationship with objects. Son of the sculptor Giannino Castiglioni, he works for the entire first part of his career alongside his brother Pier Giacomo (1913-1968), with whom he co-signs all his creations until the latter's death in 1968. Among his associations more fortunate are those with Flos, a company with which he collaborates since the foundation and with which he revolutionizes the concept of domestic lighting. He works also with Zanotta, who supportes him in his most daring experiments, with De Padova, with whom he carries out many projects in recent years of his life, and with Alessi. He has won the Compasso d'Oro eight times.Read more
