Villa ABK
Villa ABK is a suggestive private residence, a sculptural villa where the play of double-height volumes and the reflections of light from the skylights define the internal architectural spaces in a mix of light and shadow, full and empty.
It is located on the prestigious Pearl Jumeirah Island, near one of the coolest locations in Dubai, the Nikki Beach Hotel & Resort, and extends for 4,000 meters cantilevered over the water. The view is unique thanks to its direct view of the sea.
CONCEPT AND DESIGN
The concept of Villa ABK designed by MMA Projects aims to maximize the openness of the interior spaces, creating a horizontal and vertical continuum further enhanced by the main partitions. The result is an internal fluidity that allows light and nature to interpenetrate, becoming a true architectural element.
The beating heart of the house is located on the ground floor, a large open space overlooking the sea divided into a majilis, a place par excellence of Arab hospitality and conviviality. Large windows guarantee ample brightness and direct access to the outdoor area that leads to the sea.
On the same floor, you can find a second living area and a dining area including a spectacular double-height kitchen, in which an island made entirely of “Fior di Bosco” marble plays a key role. Visually contrasting is the sinuous chandelier made of leather straps and LEDs, which with its lightness and aerodynamics fills the entire upper field of vision, while “chevron” design marble geometries usually used for parquet form the base of the imposing parallelepiped, creating a geometric play.
Two elegant guest suites with private bathrooms have also been created on this floor.
Going up the iconic cantilevered staircase, you reach the first floor dedicated entirely to the family. Here, the master bedroom and four junior suites have been placed, with personalized design and furnishings according to the taste of their respective users.
On the roof top, there are two internal living areas and a large covered terrace, complete with a BBQ area.
In the basement, there are the technical areas, with spaces reserved for staff and for family entertainment, such as the cinema room and the Cigar lounge.
MATERIALS, FINISHES AND COLORS
Externally, the villa is covered with a white stone of Turkish origin, called Limbra, treated with different finishes to create a surface contrast.
For the interior coverings, three dominant materials were used: grey Fior di Bosco marble and Verde Antigua marble that contrast with the Canaletto Walnut wood.
